What We Are!
Staring with intense anticipation for
majestic manifest
Comrades
we are [1]
Once one eyelash pulled away hundred
valleys
Embracing
we are! [2]
Bewildered with the harsh treatments
in this world
From life to mountains like a large
mirror [3]
Boiling
we are!
Flame within the lantern’s bulb lid
for our sake [4]
Much light surrounding us but indeed
in
Darkness
we are!
Spectacular blindfold of negligence
upon the eyes of existence
Time in raucous with resurrection,
deaf [5]
Cotton-filled
we are!
Non-existence plays the tumultuous
music in our presence
No comfort and happiness without
anxiety and troubles, while
Awakened
we are!
Flame once in state of blissful
tranquility, already ash
Offering the merchandise of endurance
by the hands of
helplessness
Traders
we are!
Inhaling and exhaling breath filled
with no cause
No one understands for what cause
trying so hard
Struggling
we are!
Life bears no better outcome except
the helplessness [6]
Even in Non-existence found a heavy
load of guilt, again
Coolies
we are!
Caution is the surface waves of our
helplessness deep within
Much fluttering the shattered heart,
thus [7]
Armored
we are!
Impossible walking towards the
destination with no moans
I wish instead singing beautiful
painless songs
Chorus
we are!
Since the gazes of hundred curious
eyes uncovered our misery
There is no greater scream than those
stares, so
Silent
we are!
Our legacy Baydel is bidding farewell
to horrors of life
As soon as you have a new thought in
mind [8]
Forgotten
we are!
[1] When you open your eyes each
morning what is it that you
are startled awakened to behold? The rooms in your house? No,
immediately your
eyes hunger to view the majestic beauty of your Creator, like lover
each morning
rudely awakened with the longing and memory of his beloved to thirst to
view
the lost or far away beauty. When you go to bed in the night, still
your eyes
see things in depth of dreams? What are they non-stop greedily seeking
to view?
Again the majestic face of the Beloved!
Everything in the world, as a
collective are eyes non-stop
seeking to view the Creator, knowingly or unknowingly. For that reason
the
poet says, we are comrades waiting to view The Majesty.
[2] Eyelash pulling away means to
suddenly unblocking an eye
to see, a little bit. I suspect that the poet is saying, even as much
as a little opening of
a thing eyelash if we could see the Creator, he would run around
hundreds of
valleys and hug people and kiss them out of happiness. Or he would toil
traveling
to hundreds of valleys to find that one eyelash pulled away to see the
Creator for a bit.
[3] I am not sure about what the poet
meant by mirror but
from other writings I can extrapolate that entire universe becomes a
huge
mirror to look upon, once you face the bitterness of events in the
life. This
mirror allows you to see your self as it is meant to be not as you wish
it to
be. So the universe reflects exactly what is deep within your essence.
If you
see evil and harsh treatments, it is a reflection of what is within you
or what
has the potential to be as such.
The word boiling could refer
to being angry and distressed
or most probably it means, the boiling process that was necessary in
ancient
times to make a surface to become mirror-like. The poet alludes to the
fact
that universe become a mirror by the boiling of what is inside us,
therefore
our eyes can catch the reflection of this mirror.
[4] I suspect that the lantern/bulb
refers to the
Koran[24:35]:
Poet says even though the
lantern was lid for us to find our
way in darkness, still in spite of this light from Allah we are in
darkness.
[5] Time is in much turbulence with the
plans for future
resurrection of human beings, while we are blindfolded by the
negligence and
vanity. The poet says the raucous is being so loud, we cannot hear it
as though
our ears stuffed with cotton.
[6] Mankind feels that once death
terminates his life all
the suffering is over. Baydel tells us that even in the Non-existence
we carry a lot of our past guilty deeds and words.
[7] Here the poet is talking to lovers.
No matter how may
times for what reason your heart is shattered, you should not be
cautious for
falling in love again. Because ‘caution’ is just the waves from the
past
helplessness deep inside the waters of our heart. In other words Beydel
says
don’t wear the armor LOVE AGAIN bodly.
[8] See the picture of the poor AIDS
orphan on this
page. You look at it once, and then off to another page and within
seconds he
is forgotten. Remember the universe is a mirror and this child is a
reflection
of miseries within your self. Allow not any new thoughts to forsake the
memories of this boy.
