Al-Mu’min (The Endower of Safety)
Al-Ghazali:
Al-Mu’min is Al-Ladhi (That Which)
all forms of safety and sanctuary
are attributed to Hu,
by means of causation or preventing/blocking the
passageways of fear. If there is any safety or sanctuary, indeed it
comes from Al-Mu’min.
The slave by nature of Fitra (Innate Human design) is weak and subject
to ailments like hunger and thirst within his belly; he is also
vulnerable to heat, drowning, wounds, and fractures of his outer limbs.
No one can provide safety or sanctuary for him other than Al-Mu’min.
Al-Mu’min is also the one to provide for him safety in the final grand
plague of destruction in the Hereafter in the sanctuary of Lā-Ilāha
Il-lal-lāh (There is no deity save Allah), The
Kalima (Divine Word) of
Tauhid (Divine
Oneness), as was promised by Allah to the Prophet:
“Lā-Ilāha Il-lal-lāh (There is no deity save Allah) is My
sanctuary,
and whoever enters My sanctuary is for sure safe from My torment”
الجامع الصغير.

of Allah? And the Prophet replied: That person whose neighbor is not
safe from his evil!”
