Kamled-din Wahshi Baafqi Kermaani lived around
400 years ago at a city called Baafq between Kermaan and Yazd in Iran.
His work was to simplify the past master’s complex and often
incomprehensible poetry into simple verse. He also moved away from the
Arabic phrases as much as possible.
Wahshi means "savage" in Farsi and his poetry reads like a wild animal
who killed the prey or the poem.
